Is MaritimeCrew Pro free for crew? +
Yes! Creating a crew profile is completely free. You can browse job listings, apply to positions and be discovered by employers at no cost. Some advanced features may require a crew upgrade in the future, but core functionality will always be free.
How much do employer plans cost? +
We offer three paid plans: Starter (€79/mo), Pro (€149/mo) and Agency (€299/mo). All plans include a 14-day free trial with no credit card required. Employers can also start for free with limited features.
Can I cancel my subscription at any time? +
Absolutely. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your billing dashboard. Your access will continue until the end of your current billing period. There are no cancellation fees or penalties.
How do I upgrade or downgrade my plan? +
You can change your plan at any time from the Billing section of your dashboard. Upgrades take effect immediately and you'll be charged a prorated amount. Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.
Are crew profiles verified? +
All crew registrations go through a review process. Employers with a Pro or Agency plan can also request enhanced verification for specific candidates. We strongly recommend uploading copies of your STCW certificates to strengthen your profile.
What certifications can I add to my profile? +
You can add all major maritime certifications including STCW Basic Safety, OOW, Master, Chief Engineer, MCA Yachtmaster, GMDSS, ENG1, HLO, HUET, MEFA, WSET and many more. See the full list on the profile editing page.
How do employers contact crew? +
Employers on a paid plan can view full crew profiles including contact details, and send direct messages. Free employer accounts can browse profiles but cannot access contact information. Crew members also receive notifications when an employer views their profile.
Is my personal data safe? +
We take data security seriously. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We never sell your personal information to third parties. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting support.
Can I post jobs without a subscription? +
Employer accounts start on the Free tier which allows limited profile browsing. To post job listings, you'll need to upgrade to a Starter, Pro or Agency plan. All paid plans include a 14-day free trial so you can test everything risk-free.
What happens if I find a placement outside the platform? +
We encourage you to mark positions as filled and update your availability status so crew and employers get accurate information. We don't charge placement fees — our model is subscription-based, so there's no conflict of interest.
